Mental Health of Nations is an issue I’ve often pondered on.
Is it possible that schizophrenia, paranoia, depression, anxiety, and even sociopathy, some of the common psychiatric disorders experienced by individuals, can be experienced by nations too? Experience of history and living in modern times has evidence to support the notion. Borrowing the title of my favorite movie “its a mad mad mad mad world”, best describes the world we live in! Look at the depressed Pakistan, the paranoid Russia, the anxious Qatar, the sociopathic Afghanistan, and may be Syria, and a schizophrenic Iraq and you may find a reason to agree.
More on that later.
